In recent years, the complication of Golden apple fruit in India rust in Semiram region of Isfahan province has been spreading on the Golden Delicious variety and this issue has caused a decrease in the quality and value of the product.
Two groups of rust on the fruit of the Golden Delicious variety have been reported.
The first group has a genetic origin (Falginella et al., 2015) and the second group is subject to environmental conditions, physical, mechanical and chemical factors, pests, pathogens and management practices.
The amount of rust is influenced by various factors, including weather conditions (rainfall, cold, relative humidity, quality of light on the surface of the fruit), chemicals (food, hormones or fungicides), mechanical damage. and pest damage (Goffinet et al., 2002).
In addition, epiphytic bacteria or yeasts (Goffinet et al., 2002; Heidarian et al. 2020), apple powdery mildew pathogen Podosphaera leucotricha (Ellis & Everh.) E. S. Salmon and apple rust mite (Aculus schlechtendali) ) also cause rust.
The aim of this study was to investigate the factors influencing the occurrence and development of apple fruit rust on Golden Delicious variety.
In this regard, in two consecutive years (1397-1396) from three major apple cultivation areas in Semiram city with different climates, and in each area from three gardens and in each garden 50 fruits, from the time of symptoms and during the season Fruit growth until harvest was done three times by random sampling.
The samples were checked in the laboratory in terms of the type of rust, the percentage of rusted fruit and the fruit rust index according to the considered scales.
